On September 30, 2019, a little boy from the village of Kalanchak, Kalanchak district, Kherson region, was hospitalized at the children's department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Gleba Plotnikova, who was born on July 25, 2017. Gleb has a congenital heart defect - an open arterial duct. The boy needs endovascular closure of the defect with the Nit-Occlud PDA spiral kit.
Gleb's mother, Valentina Valentinovna Plotnikova, asked the Foundation to help her purchase expensive consumables. We started project «Little Gleb's heart really needs help!». The Foundation on its website https://heart-in-hand.in.ua/programs/serdechku-malenkogo-gleba-duzhe-potribna-dopomoga/ and Facebook page posted information about the boy and all the necessary supporting documents.
On October 01, 2019, at the State Institution «Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine», Plotnikov Gleb underwent X-ray endovascular closure of the patent ductus arteriosus. The postoperative period was uneventful, and on October 03, the boy was discharged home in satisfactory condition.
We, along with Gleb, his parents, and all his relatives and friends, are sincerely grateful to Vodafone Ukraine, which provided the necessary heart implant to save the boy's heart.
