On July 23, 2019, a little boy from the village of Tyvriv, Tyvriv district, Vinnytsia region, was hospitalized at the children's department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Oleksandr Oliynyk, He is not yet two years old and has a congenital heart defect - an open arterial duct. The boy needs endovascular closure of the defect with the Nit-Occlud PDA helical set.
Sashko's mother, Kateryna Oliynyk, asked the Foundation to help her purchase expensive consumables.
We have started project «Let's save little Oleksandr's heart together!». The Foundation has posted information about the boy and all the necessary supporting documents on its website https://heart-in-hand.in.ua/programs/vryatuemo-serdechko-malenkogo-oleksandra-razom/ and Facebook page.
With a request to provide a charitable donation for the purchase of a Nit-Occlud PDA for Oleksandr, the Foundation turned to its reliable partners, Vodafone Ukraine, and received support. The necessary heart implant was purchased and transferred to the Heart Institute.
On July 24, 2019, at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, little Oleksandr Oliynyk underwent X-ray endovascular closure of the patent ductus arteriosus. The postoperative period was uneventful, and on July 26, the boy was discharged home in a satisfactory condition.
We, along with Sasha, his mother and grandparents, are sincerely grateful to Vodafone Ukraine, which provided the necessary heart implant to save the boy's heart.
