The project has been completed. The heart implant was purchased thanks to the International Charitable Foundation in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
On July 15, 2019, Veronika Salimovska from Mariupol, Donetsk region, born on March 11, 2016, was consulted at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The specialists of the Heart Institute diagnosed the girl with congenital heart disease - a secondary defect of the atrial septum in the central part of the heart. To eliminate this congenital heart defect, Veronika needs endovascular correction of the defect with a heart implant - a Figulla Flex II ASD occluder with a delivery system and a measuring balloon, the cost of which is 105 000 UAH.
The girl's family consists of her mother, Salimovska Yulia Yaroslavivna, her father, Salimovskyi Volodymyr Valeriyovych, her twin sister, Viktoriia, and her six-year-old brother, Myron.
The family lives in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast. Veronika's mother works as an engineer in the mechanical testing department of the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works and is the main breadwinner for the family. The father is looking for a permanent job, but is currently working temporary jobs. The financial capabilities of the large family do not allow them to raise funds for a heart implant for their daughter on their own. The main wish of the Salimovskys is that Veronika's heart becomes healthy. Veronika, a modest and shy girl, like all children, loves to play with her sister.
Veronika's mother asked the Foundation to help raise funds to purchase a heart implant - a Figulla Flex II ASD occluder with a delivery system and a measuring balloon for the treatment of Veronika's congenital heart disease.
