Bortnik Oleksandr

On May 20, 2019, a boy from the village of Zelenytsia, Volodymyr district, Rivne region, was hospitalized in the children's department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Oleksandr Bortnyk, born on September 06, 2007, from the village of Zelenytsia in Volodymyrets district of Rivne region, was admitted to the pediatric department of the Heart Institute. The boy has a congenital heart defect - an open arterial duct. Sasha needs endovascular closure of the defect with the Nit-Occlud PDA spiral kit.  

 

Irina Bortnik, the boy's mother, asked the Foundation to help her purchase expensive consumables. We launched the project «Let's Save Oleksandr's Heart from a Large Family Together!». The Foundation posted information about the boy and all the necessary supporting documents on its website and Facebook page. Our project was supported by our partners - the advertising agency Firma. ART LLC and Metro Media Print LLC«, by posting information about fundraising for a heart implant for Oleksandr Bortnik in the Kyiv subway cars.

 

Thanks to caring people and a charitable donation from our friend and partner VF Retail LLC, a heart implant was purchased and transferred to the Heart Institute. We sincerely thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts!

On May 21, 2019, at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Oleksandr Bortnyk underwent X-ray endovascular closure of the patent ductus arteriosus. The postoperative period was uneventful, and on May 23, the boy was discharged home in satisfactory condition.
