The idea of creating a high-level European cardiac surgery clinic was realized at the Heart Institute (formerly the Kyiv City Heart Center) in 2007. For the first time in Ukraine, experts in the field of prevention of heart diseases and defects, diagnostics, therapy, surgery, anesthesiology and rehabilitation gathered in one clinic. Due to the large-scale concentration of medical knowledge at the Heart Institute, it is now possible to treat heart defects in newborns, treat angina and hypertension, and successfully perform surgeries (coronary artery stenting, heart bypass surgery, valve replacement, minimally invasive cardiac surgery and heart transplantation).
