The condition of 5-year-old Victoria is critically deteriorating every day. The child is in the intensive care unit of the Heart Institute in critical condition. Two days ago she suffered a cardiac arrest and was resuscitated. Resuscitation doctors are doing everything possible to stabilize the child.
The only way to save the child is a heart transplant, but we understand that a donor organ for such a young child will not be available in the near future. The only chance to wait for a donor organ is the fastest possible implantation of a mechanical heart, with which the child can live for several years and wait for a donor organ.
Heart transplantation in Ukraine is free for patients and fully funded by the state, but children's mechanical hearts are expensive and require a separate purchase.
