On April 07, 2025, a fifteen-year-old girl from Kyiv, Sofia Bratchenko, was hospitalized in the children's department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. She has a congenital heart defect - a secondary atrial septal defect and dilatation of the right heart.
To eliminate this congenital heart defect, Sofia needs endovascular closure of the atrial septal defect with the Xeapt P XJFS2525 occluder with the Stiirease SFA 10F introducer, the cost of the set is UAH 165,796.50.
The Foundation was approached by the girl's mother, Yana Bratchenko, who works as a teacher at the Suzirya Lyceum in Vyshgorod, and Sophia's father, Oleksandr Bratchenko, a military serviceman and combatant, with a request to help purchase expensive consumables.
Thanks to our joint initiative in honor of Children's Day, between TM Sadochok, Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and ours Charitable Foundation ”Heart on the Palm”, We were able to quickly purchase the necessary expensive heart implant (Xeapt P XJFS2525 occluder with Stiirease SFA 10F introducer) and transfer it to the Heart Institute pharmacy to save Sofia's heart.
And on April 7, at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Sofia Bratchenko underwent X-ray endovascular closure of the secondary atrial septal defect. The postoperative period was uneventful, and on April 8, the girl was discharged home in a satisfactory condition and good mood.
