On October 10, 2018, a little boy from the village of Livyntsi, Kelmenets district, Chernivtsi region, Cherniavsky Daniel, who will turn one on October 28, was hospitalized at the children's department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Danylo has a congenital heart defect - a wide open arterial duct, atrial septal defect, dilatation of the heart chambers and other related diagnoses.
First of all, children need endovascular closure of the open arterial duct with the Nit-Occlud PDA spiral kit.
The Foundation was approached by the boy's mother, Oksana Cherniavska, with a request to help raise funds for an expensive implant to save the heart of her younger son, Daniel. We started project «Little Daniel is waiting for your help!». The Foundation posted information about the boy and all the necessary supporting documents on its website and Facebook page. Information about the project was also published in a newspaper in South Africa.
With a request to provide a charitable donation to purchase a Nit-Occlud PDA for the little cheerful Daniel, the Foundation turned to its reliable friends and partners - the of Vodafone Ukraine«. Thanks to this company, the necessary expensive consumables were purchased and transferred to the Heart Institute.
On October 16, 2018, at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Danylo Cherniavsky from a large family underwent X-ray endovascular closure of the patent ductus arteriosus. The postoperative period was uneventful, and on October 21, the boy was discharged home in satisfactory condition.
We, along with Danylo and his large family, are sincerely grateful to Vodafone Ukraine, which provided the necessary consumables to eliminate the boy's congenital heart defect.
