On May 16, 2017, a little girl from Zhytomyr, Anastasia Kulykivska, who is not yet 4 years old, was hospitalized in the children's department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Nastya has a congenital heart defect - a secondary defect of the atrial septum. The girl needs endovascular closure of the defect with a Figulla Flex II ASD occluder with a delivery system and a measuring balloon, which costs UAH 98,000.
Iryna Kazymyrivna, Anastasia's mother, who is raising her child alone, asked the Foundation to help her purchase expensive consumables. We started our own project «Let's save little Anastasia's heart». The Foundation posted information about the girl and all the necessary supporting documents on its website and Facebook page. Information about the project was also published in the newspaper. The project «Let's Save the Heart of Little Sonia!» was placed on the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace. During the project, we were able to raise UAH 50,000, and the remaining 48,000 was raised by caring people on the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace. Thanks to this, we were able to purchase the necessary occluder to eliminate the secondary atrial septal defect Figulla Flex II ASD with a delivery system and a measuring balloon.
On May 17, 2017, at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Anastasia Kulykivska underwent X-ray endovascular closure of the secondary atrial septal defect. The postoperative period was uneventful, and on May 19, the girl was discharged home in a satisfactory condition.We, together with Irina's mother, little Anastasia, are sincerely grateful to Eurogold Industries LTD, represented by the Grolich family, for the charitable donation to purchase a heart implant for a little girl and to the Ukrainian Charity Exchange, which helped to raise the remaining funds and save the girl's life!
