On June 25, 2018, Makarenko Artemka, a little one and a half year old boy from Dobrovelychkivka village, Steblin district, Kirovohrad region, was hospitalized at the Children's Department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The kid has a congenital heart defect - an open arterial duct, an open oval window and other related diagnoses. Artemka needs endovascular closure of the defect with the Nit-Occlud PDA spiral set.
Marina Makarenko, the mother of little Artem, asked the Foundation to help her purchase expensive consumables. We started project «Little Artemka is waiting for your help!». The Foundation posted information about the boy and all the necessary supporting documents on its website and Facebook page.
To help little Artem's heart, the following responded ICF «International Charitable Foundation in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin», who purchased the necessary heart implant and sent it to the Heart Institute. We sincerely thank them from the bottom of our hearts!
On June 26, 2018, Makarenko Artem underwent X-ray endovascular closure of the patent ductus arteriosus at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The postoperative period was uneventful, and on June 28, the boy was discharged home in satisfactory condition.
We, along with the Makarenko family, are sincerely grateful to ICF «International Charitable Foundation in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin», who helped save the little boy's life and became a real magician for him! We are very pleased to have such a reliable friend and partner.
