On May 03, 2018, a nine-year-old girl from the village of Kurylivka, Volochysk district, Khmelnytsky region, Natalia Voloshyna, born on February 21, 2009, was hospitalized at the Children's Department of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Natalia has a congenital heart defect - a large secondary atrial septal defect. We planned to perform endovascular correction of the defect with the HeartR occluder complete with the Stent EazeFigulla Flex II ASD introducer, which cost 104,646 UAH.
Natalia's mother, Olga Vasilievna, asked the Foundation to help her purchase expensive consumables. The Foundation launched the project «Saving Natalia's heart depends on you!». We have posted information about the girl and all the necessary supporting documents on our website and Facebook page.
Natalia's heart was helped by ICF «International Charitable Foundation in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin», who purchased the necessary heart implant and sent it to the Heart Institute. We sincerely thank them from the bottom of our hearts!
Unfortunately, it was not possible to close Natasha's large secondary atrial septal defect by endovascular means, the hole was too large, so on May 7, the girl underwent plastic surgery of the secondary atrial septal defect with a lateral approach. The surgery and postoperative period were uneventful, and on May 14, the girl was discharged home in a satisfactory condition. Thanks to the heart implant purchased for Natalia, the heart of Khrystyna Rudnytska from a large family from the village of Pustoviyty, Vinnytsia region, with the same congenital heart defect, will be saved http://www.serdze.org.ua/ua/pacient/vryatuemo-serdechko-khristini.
Natalia brought a gift for the Foundation from home, a whole pile of drawings by her classmates. All the 3rd grade students of the secondary school in Kurylivka village made drawings of the name of our charity foundation «Heart on a Palm». Thank you, boys and girls, for such a pleasant surprise. We will make a collage of your drawings and post it on our website.
