Timely diagnosis of congenital heart disease is aimed at early cardiac surgery in newborns with critical heart defects. In the future, we plan to introduce intrauterine intervention for fetal congenital heart disease, which is not currently performed in Ukraine; perform transesophageal echocardiography of the heart during surgery in children over 3.5 kg.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1265 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/heart-in-hand.in.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/project_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>Congenital heart defects in the fetus are formed in the first 8 months of intrauterine development and do not always depend on the mother's lifestyle. Genetics, which is not always manifested in the parents themselves, has a great impact on the development of the unborn child. And very often parents do not realize that it is their unborn child, whom they are looking forward to, who develops a heart defect, which after birth crosses out all the joyful plans for a happy childhood and parenthood. It is very difficult and painful to look into the eyes of parents who receive the news that their little angel has a heart defect that requires surgical correction. The parents, who had hoped for a refutation of the diagnosis, the first call that came from the doctors at the hospital, are in despair. And the only question they have is: \u00abWhy? Why them, because they led a healthy lifestyle, followed all the recommendations!\u00bb Parents are not ready for such news. Unfortunately, it happens that congenital heart defects in children cannot always be operated on and saved. Such children are doomed to live the time they have left in suffering with their parents. It is for such children and families that early, accurate prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart defects is very important, which is possible with expert-class devices such as PhilipsEPIQ7.<\/div><div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Timely detection of CHD in the fetus makes it possible to reduce the disability of newborns, and to some extent, to prevent the birth of children who are doomed to suffer, as modern medicine is unable to help them.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>This project was implemented due to the need of the Children's Consultation Department of the Heart Institute for a high-quality ultrasound machine with high resolution, which is caused by the need of the population for timely diagnosis of congenital heart defects in the fetus. After all, children are our future! The future of not only the child but also the whole family depends on whether the child is healthy or not.<\/div><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1265 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/heart-in-hand.in.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/project_4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>Patients from all over Ukraine have the opportunity to be examined at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Citizens of other countries also come to our Institute for help: Republic of Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russia, and Uzbekistan.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>With the Philips EPIQ7 ultrasound machine, prenatal diagnosis is possible from the 16th week of gestation, which allows a pregnant woman to more fully examine for concomitant fetal pathology, including genetic pathology, and determine the correct tactics for managing pregnancy, childbirth, and subsequent timely medical care. After all, many heart defects are critical and require delivery of a pregnant woman near a cardiac surgery clinic, and sometimes in the cardiac surgery clinic itself, as the child's life depends on every minute, and it is very important that this precious time is not lost.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Timely and accurate diagnosis of heart disease, first and foremost, gives our children a chance for a healthy and happy future. Expert ultrasound diagnostics of heart defects is an integral part of cardiology and cardiac surgery, which go hand in hand.
